The argument between the pro flu shot and the anti-flu shot is never ending. Now a mother is sending a message to other moms after her daughter died because of skipping a flu shot. This mother is taking a stand so that no other kids will be victims of the unwanted tragedy just by not taking the shot.

Pegy Lowery decided not to let her 12-year-old daughter get the flu vaccine. This was the time when 2015-2016 flu shot season arrives. Piper, her daughter has a fear of needles and it outweighed the potential benefit of the vaccine.

A year later, in January 2016, Piper lost the battle with the virus complications. Now, the Washington mom encourages other moms to never allow their kids to skip the flu shot. Peggy is now raising an awareness to reach other moms that flu shot should not be ignored because same with what happened to Piper death could come.

In an interview with Q13F0x, Peggy told them that the illness of Piper progressed fast like a "freight train" on January 12, 2016. Four days after her daughter's experience high fever, Piper died.

During the time, Piper was taken to the hospital three times because of high fever. One instance her fever reached up to 105 degrees. Doctors gave her Tamiflu, but there was no improvement.

After the failure of Tamiflu, Piper began to vomit blood. Pegy brought her to the emergency room at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma. But, Piper already collapsed in her mother's arms in the parking lot. Pegy screamed for help, but when the doctors arrived it was too late. They cannot revive Piper anymore.

The doctor's diagnosis is H1N1 complications, it attacked Piper's kidneys that lead to renal failure, which began the day before her tragic death.Pegy said that " for us, it's been really hard, all I have now is pictures, an urn sitting on the mantle," according to Fox News.

However, Pegy is not positive that the flu shot would have saved her daughter's life, she is still working with Tacoma-based Fight the Flu Foundation to promote what she now knows is widely accurate about the vaccine, which is that in many cases, it can be life-saving. In behalf of her late daughter, awareness regarding the flu shot is her way to help others.
