Sony is known for launching its flagship phones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Recently new Sony Xperia 2017 phone model numbers have leaked online and there are speculations that the new phone would be launched at MWC in February 2017.

Last year at MWC, Sony had launched its Xperia X and Xperia XA smartphones. Both phones could not create a stir in the market as expected by Sony. New Sony Xperia 2017 phone models leaked online are numbered G3112 and G3121. These leaks were spotted on Russian site Mobiltelefon.ru and are speculated to have emerged from Eurasian Economic Commission.

New Sony Xperia 2017 phone model numbers itself does not signify much as Sony does not name it phones consistently. According to XperiaBlog, earlier in the year, Sony had used F31XX this year for the Xperia XA. Based on the new name it could be a mid-range phone on the lines of Xperia XA. Although Sony does not have a consistent system for naming its phones, 2015 models started with an 'E' and 2016 models were with initials 'F'.

No further details were available for the new Sony Xperia 2017 phones. There are no news or rumors confirming whether these mobile numbers are for Xperia. Currently, there is a range of Xperia phones such as XA, X, X compact and XZ. Sony Xperia F8331 model that had leaked earlier in the year was later confirmed as Xperia XZ.  According to Trusted Reviews, the leaked number indicates the new device might be a mid-range device as Xperia E4 had the model number G2104.

In general, the Flagship Xperia models come with a 13 MP camera, 3GB RAM,a full HD display, and a Snapdragon 650 or 820 processor. It is still unclear whether this phone packs the same specs. With the New Sony Xperia 2017 phone, a turnaround in sales is expected. Let us hope the new model will be a clear winner in the Xperia series.
