Heroin addiction in the United States is rampant. Recently, a mother of three has been arrested on a count of injecting her three children with "feel good medicine," which was discovered to be heroin.

The mother of three from Spanaway, Washington, was charged and jailed on Monday. The accusations was that she repeatedly gave the three children heroin to get them to sleep.

In a report by The News Tribune, the Child Protective Services (CPS) evacuated the three children of the 24-year-old mother Ashlee Hutt. The three children were a 6-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old girl. They were detached last Nov. 15, 2015, from the home of Hutt and her boyfriend Mac McIver. The authorities saw heroin, needles, and rat dropping inside the house.

After the children were removed away from their parents, the CPS authorities discovered that the 2-year-old girl has marks of heroin injection, including bruises and cuts on her body. A month later the 6-year-old boy was interviewed by the authorities, and he told them that he was being choked by 25 years old McIver. He then injected them with "feel-good" medicine.

The boy describes the medicine as a mixture of white powder and water and then injected with a needle. The two sisters were also being forced injected with the substance and made them fell asleep after. Two months later the youngest child tested positive for heroin.

As follows, both of the parents admitted being addicted to heroin. On Monday, Hutt was charged with three counts each of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance to minor, second- degree criminal mistreatment and second-degree child assault. The Court Commissioner set her bail at $100,000. Meanwhile, McIver was arraigned on the same charges on Sept. 7 and his bail is $100,000, according to Fox News.
