The 2017 Mazda CX-5 was teased recently before its world premiere launch at the Los Angeles Motor Show, next month. Mazda plans on revealing the new mid-sized SUV on November 16, 2016. The teaser images revealed by Mazda feature a model which has similar size proportions to the CX-3 - especially, the short overhang at the back and the long bonnet.

The new 2017 CX-5 will also have an intuitive new look with design ideas from the new CX-9 as well. These new features comprise of an intriguing angular face with sharper and slimmer tail and head-lights. The prototype of the 2017 Mazda CX-5 medium SUV was spotted in August covered in camouflage sheets of black and white color. But, we could make a clear inspection of the new design being featured on the upcoming vehicle. It does not divert completely to a new design, but significant changes were spotted on it.

The most relevant changes were spotted on the front side. The sporty new face in the front of the 2017 Mazda CX-5 is similar to CX-9 and CX-3 and it doesn't fail on impressing the ones who love such layouts in vehicles. On the rear side, there are minor changes such as slimmer tail-lights and most possibly addition of a chrome strip between the lights. This layout differentiates it from the current model.

No Updates On The 2017 Mazda CX-5 interior

We were not able to spot images for the interiors of the vehicle for now. But, we do feel that there are going to be new additions to the cockpit as the current model's interiors are quite outdated. Taking a look at the engine variations, the Mazda is likely to feature on of its SkyActiv diesel and petrol engines. There might also be an updated version of the present 138kW/250Nm 2.5-litre petrol and 129kW/420Nm turbo-diesel.

Furthermore, there will be a 2.5 liter turbo engine for the CX-9, which will produce a power of 170kW and a torque of 420Nm. This will bring in competition from turbocharged variants like Subaru Forester and Ford Kuga. Other features to accompany the 2017 Mazda C-5 are the G-Vectoring Control technology which was introduced in the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3.

The Mazda CX-5 might be an old car, but it still leads the Australian mid-sized SUV market. Mazda sold over 2662 units in September, and over 19,090 cars in almost a year (2016). This is an increase of 18.2 percent from last year.

This also lets CX-5 surpass other competitors like the Hyundai Tucson and Toyota RAV4. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 will be revealed on November 16, 2016 at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor Show.
