Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu is making waves in the mainland with one of its flagship smartphone, the Meizu M5, getting a China certification and is expected to get an October 31 release date.

The heir apparent to the highly touted Meizu M3, the Meizu M5 is one of the latest offering of the tech company after skipping the branding for their Meizu M4 phone. After having some traction and interest in the market, the newest smartphone just got certified by the TENAA.

TENAA is the Chinese counterpart for the FCC. The Chinese authority needs to approve and certify any smartphone before it can get into the mainland market. One can look into the TENAA listing to look at the available and certified smartphones on the market. Interested minds can examine the look and makeup of the phones along with its specification.

The Meizu M5 smartphone is made out of, surprisingly, polycarbonate. Meizu usually produces metal-clad smartphones. Morever, the new phone resembles its predecessors  as it features Meizu's mBack home key right below the phone screen. Aside from the aesthetics, the Meizu M5 boasts awesome specification and features including a 5.2-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, that could go along with your choice of 2GB / 3GB / 6GB of RAM. Users can also avail any of the 16GB / 32GB / 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card).

Featuring MediaTek's MT6750 64-bit octa-core SoC, the Meizu M5 could run at 1.5GHz  and with a 3,000mAh battery the phone can perform longer. Moreover, the M5 also have a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera.

On a side note, another Meizu smartphone has been leaked on the internet recently - the Meizu PRO 6s. The Meizu PRO 6s is the successor for the flagship phone Meizu PRO 6. The phone features and look will resemble the Meizu PRO 6 according to the company's VP.
