‘iPhone 7’ 32 GB Memory Not A Problem: Storage Size Won’t Affect Speed Of Your Smartphone, Says Report

If you think you've made a wrong decision opting for an iPhone 7 with 32 GB memory space, you might be wrong. Recent reports have shown that no matter which storage capacity you have, you'll have a similar experience in terms of speed and performance. Although a smaller memory size may theoretically mean lesser channels, in Practical life even if you own a 256GB iPhone, the experience would be the same as that of a 32 GB smartphone.

While theoretically, lower-capacity storage chips should perform a bit slower than the higher-capacity ones as the number of parallel channels is lesser, practically, your iPhone 7 would be as fast as the 128GB and 256GB models. Here's Why:

According to Cnet's preliminary tests on two iPhone 7 of different storage capacities, only the write speed is affected by the difference in the storage capacity. This results in a slower write speed on the 32GB phone. However, as the read speed determines the booting speed or how fast an app is launched, it is more important. And this is the reason why the 32GB iPhone 7 will be just as fast as the 256GB one. As most of the activities we do on the iPhone 7 revolves around the reading speed, the Memory Size difference isn't that a big deal after all.

When Does The Write Speed Matter?
