Ford Mustang's present version has been on sale for the last two years. Now it appears the car manufacturer is planning a mild refresh by unveiling its 2018 Ford Mustang Coupe Model. The Prototype of the upcoming vehicle with a refreshed concept was found getting a test run on Detroit's public roads.

The heavily camouflaged car in the spied photos doesn't appear to be a special edition, or the GT500 or the Mach 1 prototypes that have been previously sighted. According to MotorTrend, the pictures represent the 2018 Ford Mustang Model in both of its coupe and convertible forms. Here's what to expect from the new model:

2018 Ford Mustang Coupe Features And Specs:

Though the 2018 Ford Mustang Coupe Model isn't that much visible through the camo, the car's front can be expected to feature some moderate changes, including the new LED rings covered headlights. While it's very hard to decipher any such changes on its rear end, peeking through the slits in the camo the new headlight design is somewhat visible. The fact that the 2018 Mustang Coupe is totally covered up maybe an indication that more revisions are yet to come.

The rear exhaust of the Refreshed Concept car does appear to have some emissions equipment attached. But as the prototype features Brembo brakes and not any aggressive tires, the car most likely is more of an everyday Mustang GT. The Coupe Car is also expected to feature the well rumored new 10-speed automatic engine that's under development by GM.

Although the profile of the 2018 Ford Mustang Coupe Model mostly remains the same, every other panel on the car except the roof, has been covered with a camouflage. As already mentioned, the 2018 Ford Mustang will be the car to receive the 10-speed automatic transmission co-developed by Ford and GM. This will be something in common between the 2018 Ford Mustang Coupe and the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

What Else Are The New Changes?

AutoBlog reports that We may as well see some new styling tweaks to the base as well as the GT models. The exact powertrain mix, however, for the refreshed Ford Mustang Coupe still remains unclear. Rumors  suggest that new trims will also make their way into the Ford Mustang lineup. These new additions may also probably include the return of the original Mach 1 nameplate and a new GT500. As Mustang sales have slumped in recent months, these recent updates might fill new life in the Ford dealers.

You can expect to see the refreshed Ford Mustang Concept Coupe model alongside the new special editions to the lineup in the coming Year. The Mustang is already kicking Camaro's teeth in terms of sales and that doesn't appear to have stopped the Auto manufacturer from improving the car. The Refreshed Concept 2018 Ford Mustang Model could debut as early as End of 2017.
