Google has clearly left its mark in the smartphone market with the launch of its self-made Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones. However, its clash with the other top-level phones in the area is still on, especially the newly launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Google Pixel vs iPhone 7 Face Off:

So far, It has been an amazing year for all the smartphone lovers, with a bunch of new offerings being released almost every week. However, for those who wish to buy a new phone in 2016, both the Google Pixel and iPhone 7 are causing a bit of confusion as to which of the two smartphones is better.

Well, to sort this out here is a comparison between the specs and features of Google's new Pixel and the iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus. Review these points and choose the smartphone that best suits your needs.

Google Pixel Vs iPhone 7 Specs And Features Comparison:

Apple has received criticism for not making many changes in its design over the iPhone 6S. The iPhone 7 looks are totally taken from its predecessor including the same metal casing, flat back and curved sides. The only differing areas are those of the antenna lines. Even the camera hump, which appears to be different, still continues to stick out from the rear. There's also the absence of a headphone jack, which makes the smartphone slightly incomplete.

Google Pixel Vs iPhone 7 Design Comparison:

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are also rectangular shaped with rounded edges just like the iPhone models. While Apple's smartphone feature its Touch ID fingerprint scanner just below the front home button , the fingerprint sensor on the Pixel is located on the half-glossy, half-matte rear of the metallic based glass device. While Google is offering the Smartphones in black, silver, and blue colors, the iPhone 7 is available in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, and two new Black/Jet Black versions. The Google Pixel, however, doesn't offer the IP68 water-resistance as that of the iPhone 7, powerful speakers or even a microSD slot for expanding the 32GB storage.

Display Comparison:

The Pixel models come in 5" or 5.5" and the iPhones are available in 4.7" or 5.5". iPhone 7's Retina screen has a 1,334 x 750 resolution with 326ppi, while the Pixel features a Full HD screen (1,080 x 1,920) and an impressive 424ppi. The Google Pixel XL provides a 1,440 x 2,560 resolution with 534ppi and the iPhone 7 Plus offers 1,080 x 1,920 with 424 ppi. It's pretty clear that Pixel leads iPhone 7 in terms of Display.

Hardware Comparison:

There's no doubt that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are seriously powerful phones. With 2GB RAM and a new A10 Fusion core, these smartphones are 30% faster than the earlier iPhone 6S and 12% more powerful than Samsung's Galaxy S7.

Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip feature 4GB RAM and is powered by the new Android Nougat OS. Pixel's processor does support the Daydream VR and also work with the new Daydream View VR headset. Unfortunately, the iPhone 7 or the 7 Plus don't come with any such VR capabilities. In terms of Storage, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus come in 32/128/256GB models. Google Pixel, on the other hand, offers 32/128GB storage options.

Camera Comparison:

With new dual 12-megapixel lenses coupled with Optical image stabilization and a 1/2.7-inch sensor, the iPhone 7 Plus offers some of the best pictures you can ever take from a smartphone camera. The Pixel, on the other hand, comes with a 12.3-megapixel setup coupled with a f/2.0 aperture.

While the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus feature a decent 7-megapixel front camera for taking selfies with a f/2.2 aperture, The Pixel, and Pixel XL just put their competition down with an amazing 8-megapixel selfie camera on both the phones.

Battery / Price Comparison:

Apple's smartphones come with a non-removable Li-Ion 1,960mAh battery. The Pixel and Pixel XL's batteries although non-removable, beat the iPhones here as well, coming in 2,770 and 3,450 mAh Batteries respectively.

The iPhone 7 is available at £599, £699 and £799 for the 32GB, 128GB, and the 256GB version respectively. The Pixel will be available for £599 (32GB) and £699 (128GB) and the Pixel XL is reported to be coming at £719 (32 GB) and £819 (128GB).

Google Pixel Vs iPhone 7, And The Winner Is:

As Google Pixel will only be available from September 20, We can't really decide which smartphone is better at present. Although the iPhone 7 seems to be a great phone, the battery issues are a real drawback. As such, Google Pixel is expected to take down its competition this year with its promising specs.

The Pixel beats the iPhone 7 in screen quality, battery life, VR support and camera specifications as well. You just need to hold on for a while to get a closer hands on look on Google's Smartphone. Stay Tuned To SWR for more updates on Google Pixel Vs iPhone 7.
