2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback Complete Review: Specs, Price And Release Date

Chevrolet recently revealed its newest model, the 2017 Cruze Hatchback a while ahead of the gate opening of the 2016 North American International Auto show. Already covering the roads in other parts of the globe, this is the first appearance of the Cruze Hatchback in the U.S.

2017 Chevrolet Cruze will offer a variety of choices to its customers in terms of transmission and gasoline types,TopSpeed reports. The model is reported to be available in either manual or automatic transmission. The engine will also come in two versions: Gas or Diesel.

Alan Batey, president of GM North America announced earlier that the upcoming 2017 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles will have incorporated diesel feature. He also confirmed that the Cruze will feature the same 1.6-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel from the 2017 Equinox.

The Engine will give an Output of 136 HP and 236 pound-feet of torque. Automotive News reports that the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze could hit up to 50 miles per gallon on the highway. A GM engineer was also reported mentioning urea-injection being used so as to meet the U.S. emissions standards.

The 2017 Cruze Hatchback will also offer the high-tech features found in its sedan brother including 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, MyLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, projector-beam headlights coupled with LED accents. The interior will feature French stitching and leather covers.

In terms of Safety, the Cruze Hatchback offers Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and also Rear Park Assist. There's also a Teen Driver feature available that provides driving statistics to the Parents.

Price And Release Date:

The 2017 Cruze Hatchback will hit the market starting at $22,190. This makes it about $195 more expensive than the earlier Cruze LT sedan. The 2017 Cruze Hatchback is reported to go on sale in the fall of 2016 or the first quarter of next year. The diesel feature is also a new addition to the franchise.

General Motors has definitely expanded its target market in the diesel industry for 2017. This announcement surely shows that GM is keen to make some major moves in the market, aiming the youngsters to purchase the new 2017 Chevrolet Cruze.
