'Rise of The Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration' Review: What To Expect, Release Date, Updates

"Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" is nothing short of amazing. With great and well thought-out character development and game modes that make for a deeper playing experience, this soon to be released game is one of the best games out there. Here's a review and what you can expect from the newest Lara Croft game.

IGN describes the game as a beefed-up version of its predecessor, "Rise of The Tomb Raider." The new edition will still have the existing DLC, but it has more content, and a Playstation VR add-on. 

The game has been praised for giving focus on the lead character's development. Players now get to know more about Lara and the rest of the Croft family with the new chapter entitled "Blood Ties." There's not so much gameplay in this split-into-two chapter, as this was mainly for a character study.

There are also two game modes now, Comfort and Free. Comfort is the "default" where all you need to do is just control her with the controller. Free mode is quite a trip since it considers the terrain of Croft Manor. This might not be the most ideal since it could get pretty dizzying at times. Free mode is probably best experienced in VR.

Even before the game is released, there are already updates lined up after it. The first one (1.01) will allow users to play the game using Playstation VR. The game is perfect for the technology, thanks to its beautiful graphics and dynamic settings. It would also be nice because Lara stays mobile, and with the VR, the experience could be completely different and much more immersive.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" shows immense promise for its creators, Crystal Dynamics. The game measured up to its predecessors, and it might even be the best one out of the Tomb Raider franchise.

The game will be released on the PS4 on October 11.
