Medical marijuana has been legal in most of the states. It does not mean that children have access if one does not have a medical marijuana card. Reports have shown that two kids were hospitalized due to the intake of brownies with cannabis.

Seven six graders from Lincoln Elementary School ate a cannabis infused brownie and two among them were rushed to the hospital. According to the letter issued by the school, the brownie was given to them at the playground by one of their schoolmates. The school cannot yet confirm if the marijuana-infused brownie is given or sold, as reported by FOX News.

Salt Lake City Police Department, Det. Wilking said that a girl distributed the marijuana-infused brownie to seven kids and they fell ill after eating them and two were brought to the hospital last Thursday and remained hospitalized until Friday afternoon.

The result of the investigation also said that the girl got the brownies from home. The kids who got marijuana-infused brownies were aware that it contained cannabis. This situation alarmed other parents, as the two kids who were hospitalized tested positive for marijuana.

The principal investigates this situation and sent a letter to their parents. The school will give them disciplinary actions for this happening. Thus, other parents of the Lincoln Elementary School were disappointed with the "drugs" being bought to the school.

The principal of the Lincoln Elementary School suggested that parents would take the time to tell their kids the dangers of drugs. He added, "as the principal, I met with our sixth-grade students today to review the various problems related to the use of drugs." The school also plans to conduct a drug-free education for 6th-grade students.

Sandra Pope has a 3rd grader at Lincoln Elementary School said; it is not ok that a six grader have that "stuff." She added that she does not have any idea until she saw the news and it made her really angry. Another parent from the school Bradley Hain also said that "Basically, when it comes down to it, it's just communication with you and your children," according to AOL.com.
