Aston Martin has now finally confirmed that the convertible version of the DB11, also called the DB11 Volante, is on the way to the market. The official pictures give us a first look at the drop-top model, and inscription on the doors indicate that the release date would be around spring 2018.

Earlier this year, the British Sports-Car Manufacturer dazzled the automotive world by the introduction of its DB11 Coupe and now it has given us a quick look of the convertible version of the DB11. The drop top model: DB11 Volante will arrive in the Spring of 2018.

By the time it arrives, all those with a desire to get their hands on the wheel of the DB11 will have to compromise for the dazzling Coupe variant. In the pictures, there's extra bodywork that cover the back wings but it is still clear that the DB11's C-shaped rear lights, flowing body lines and the distinctive vents behind its front wheels will all still be there on the Volante version. As there's no shot of the front, we can still expect the nose to be similar to that of the coupe along with that iconic 'Aston Martin' grille and the brand's long time patented Aero-blade Aerodynamics, states BusinessInsider.com.

In place of a foldable hard top roof, the DB11 Volante is to use a lighter and also less complicated soft-top array. The Drive-train is the same 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine as that in the DB11 coupe, giving 600 Horse Power and 700 Nm of torque. The drive power to the rear wheels will be given by an eight-speed automatic gear-box.

The Volante will be a bit heavier than the previous DB11 coupe, this means that the 0-62mph acceleration time will increase to about 4.3 seconds, reports Autoexpress.com. Reaching a top speed of around 200mph, it's amongst the fastest convertible sports cars on the road.

It's expected to have the same luxuriously-up-holstered interior as that of the coupe but until its arrival in 2018, there can be a few updates to make it fresher before the convertible arrives in the showrooms. According to Carbuyer.com, the Aston Martin DB11 Volante is likely to cost much over the £154,900 DB11, with a market price around £175,000.
