The 2017 Nissan Rogue made its world debut last Friday at the 2016 Miami Auto Show. The model has been a huge hit for Nissan. Last year buyers in the United States alone snapped up around 287,190 deals hence making the car the most popular model after Altima. This year's tally is definitely on track to be much higher.

Along with Rogue, the car manufacturer's Sentra SR Turbo sports sedan and a hybrid option of the Rogue model were also unveiled, which totally surprised the audience. The Rogue has been one of the top-most-selling models of the whole Nissan brand in the U.S. With the new hybrid option coming out in market next year, sales are well expected to go much higher.

"Following more than three straight years of consecutive growth, we expect Rogue will approach 3Lakh units in the current year, doubling sales since 2012." Jose Munoz, Executive Vice President of Nissan Motor Co. said. For 2017, they are turning up the heat with enhancements designed to keep Rogue at the top of compact SUV buyers' wish lists.

What's new in the updated Rogue?

The Rogue exterior now has a new signature V-motion grille giving it a more sporty look. New enhanced LED headlights and taillights with optional motion activated lift gate have also been added. On its interior, the Rogue has a heated steering wheel system similar to that of the new Sentra SR Turbo.

The best thing about the updated Nissan Rogue is the new Safety Shield Technology, including pedestrian detection, intelligent cruise control, forward emergency braking system and lane keeping assistance coupled with the lane departure warning system, reports autoworldnews.com.

What does the Hybrid offer?

The most surprising reveal at the Auto show was that of the new 2017 Nissan Rogue's new hybrid option for the future, state Digitaltrends.com. The power-train of the hybrid Nissan Rogue is a 2.0-liter,16-valve, 4-cylinder gasoline engine combined with a 30kW electric motor. A lithium-on battery powering the motor leads to a reasonable 176 Horse power peak output.

Fuel economy of the Hybrid is estimated to be at 33 mpg city, 35 highway and 34 combined for the front wheel drive models though the EPA-rated fuel economy hasn't yet been released. The all wheel drive model will get 1 or 2 miles lesser per gallon in each of the above mentioned modes.

The non-hybrid Rogue still continues with its 2.5-liter engine for 170 Horse Power that gets about 5 mpg less than those of the hybrid models. On an overall view, the aggressive quality of the new 2017 Nissan Rogue definitely succeeds to catch public's attention, and is sure to break the records in the next year.
