According to Food Vice, science now supports the health benefits of capsaicin, the active component found in hot peppers - it can help you avoid cancer, and maybe cheat death at the same time. Of course, like many other things in the world, it is kind of a bit too good to be true: while there is evidence of capsaicin killing cancer cells, there are also studies saying that it does the exact opposite, meaning it can both fight and cure cancer.

The research, which was published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry experimented on a mice population.
