Snack maker Bimbo Bakeries U.S.A has reportedly recalled some varieties of its Entenmann brand bakery products citing concerns that the products may contain pieces of plastic. The recall was announced after the snack maker received complaints from a number of consumers who found plastic fragments in their brownies and muffins. Until now, one injury has been reported. The company announced in its recall notice that a manufacturing failure at a contract manufacturer's bakery in Illinois might have led to presence of plastic pieces in the products, reported Fortune.

The products in question include the 5 pack Little Bites Fudge Brownies, 5 and 10 packs of Chocolate Chip Muffins, and the 20 pack Variety Pack. It is to be noted that the brownies and muffins being recalled have a best by date of October 8, 2016, and the Variety Pack has a best by date of September 24, 2016. In addition, the recalled products are marked with a "UPC CODE" of "3098," which is printed on the box next to the best by date of Oct. 8, reported Food Safety News.

Nicole Lasorda, a spokeswoman from Bimbo Bakeries U.S.A, said that a total of 499,000 boxes plastic contaminated Little Bites products were shipped to retail stores in 34 U.S. states during the last two weeks. The recall doesn't include any other Entenmann's brand products. The stores list, where the affected products where shipped, can be found here.
