Play Solitaire, Tic-Tac-Toe, Other Games In Google Search

Google has taken search results to a new level by allowing you to play games with search results. The company has recently announced that you can now play solitaire, tic-tac-toe, and flip a coin right inside your search results.

According to PC World, the new feature works like any other search engine would in a search result. With tic-tac-toe, you can also play against another player sitting next to you. The company also included the ability to flip a coin by typing in "coin flip." All you have to do is search for these games in Google and at the top it will say "click to play." Google has only included solitaire's standard version. Searches for Freecell or Spider Solitaire won't be in the games embedded in the results.

Animal sounds that playback in the browser will help entertain young children, or even childish co-workers/friends. The new features are now available on the web and within the Google app. However, it is not included in the app for Windows mobile devices.

The Verge reported that the company implemented these neat tricks like when you type "What does a cat sound like?" it will show an audio result with a short list of other animals you may be interested in. The animals on the list are a bit limited, but the company is hoping that more animals will be added to the list in the future. The company has added these games on to lots of other fun Google Easter eggs, like searching for "do a barrel roll," or "askew," or "answer to life, the universe, and everything."

Meanwhile, if you're wondering how all these started, here's the backstory. Google has always been known to adding games to search. This time, these games replace the company's logo as a Google Doodle.

Geek.com reported that the most popular example of which was in 2010 when Google added Pac-Man to the site. Analysis by RescueTime said that the Pac-Man game cost the U.S. economy $120 million in lost productivity on its first day. However, what's interesting is that Google chose to add solitaire and other games to the search. This is likened to Easter Eggs left for users to discovers.
