Iphone 7 leaked images show that the device will indeed come in a new Space Black variant, confirming previous rumors. The black chassis, SIM tray and mute button are markedly darker than the Space Grey variant of the iPhone 6s.

The component depicted in the leaked images shows roughly the right shape and the red line matches the current design: however, the exact source of the new images is unknown, 9to5Mac reported. It is also unclear whether Apple will be releasing the Space Black iPhone 7 as an addition to its iPhone 7 variants or will it be a replacement for the Space Grey lineup. The new black version mirrors the Space Black option for Apple Watch.

The new color option may pose a huge factor in driving iPhone 7 sales as Other rumors are pointed at a more iterative hardware update. Apple is reportedly breaking its usual tick-tock upgrade cycle by retaining the same external design for three years in a row. The iPhone 7 is suggested to look like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 in chassis.

Some models of the iPhone 7 are expected to feature a dual-camera system, which will include two image sensors for substantially better quality photos. Previous leaks revealed that this feature will only be limited to specific versions of the 5.5 inch iPhone 7 Plus. However, it has also been suggested that a larger and improved camera will be integrated for the 4.7 inch iPhone 7.

Other specs of the Iphone 7 include a waterproof body which is a first for the iPhone lineup, graphics improvement and compute performance with a new SoC likely dubbed as A10. Moreover, it has been confirmed that Apple will drop the 16GB storage capacity and instead, will start with a 32GB. This will also add a higher-end 256GB SKU, The Next Web reported.

iPhone 7 is expected to be released sometime in Sept. 16. Apple will announce the new device at a media event about two weeks earlier, which is around Sept. 7.
