While Microsoft has already begun rolling out the highly anticipated the Windows 10 Anniversary update, the software giant has revealed it has two more major Windows 10 updates in pipeline scheduled for 2017.

The news was announced by Microsoft's Nathan Mercer in a blog post which read, "This will be our last feature update for 2016, with two additional feature updates expected in 2017." However, Microsoft hasn't disclosed what it has in store for future updates. It is expected that the next feature Windows 10 update will get a release sometime early in 2017 before spring.

According to the Verge, the tech giant is already working on the next Windows 10 update codenamed "Redstone 2," with internal builds out for testing. It is likely that the update will be launched alongside the next generation Surface Book and Surface Pro hardware updates. The second "Redstone 3" update is expected to get rolled out sometime later next year.

The recently rolled out Microsoft Windows 10 Anniversary update, also known as Windows 10 version 1607, features security enhancements, a new Cortana functionality, updated Microsoft Edge browser new features for Windows Ink users, and a lot of new Windows Hello capabilities. The company claims that this will be the only feature update of 2016, reported Tech Times.

The software giant launched Windows 10 last year in July, with the code name Threshold 1. The roll out was followed by a big update code named Threshold 2 which was released in November 2015. The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is the second major update overall for the operating system. Windows 10 is currently running on more than 350 million devices including PCs, notebooks, mobiles, Xbox and Hololens. Microsoft said it expects that Windows 10 will take more than 3 years to reach 1 billion devices.
