While Nokia has not revealed much details about making a comeback in the smartphone market, rumors about new smartphones from the tech giant are making rounds for quite some time now.

According to a report coming from Nokia Power User, citing trusted sources, Nokia is planning to roll out two new Android handsets in late 2016 or early 2017. The report also mentioned about possible features of the rumored handsets.

As per the report, both the Nokia smartphones will run Google's latest mobile OS iteration dubbed "Android 7.0 Nougat," straight from the box along with an improved version of Nokia's Z Launcher UI on top. While, one of the handsets is expected to feature a 5.2-inch display size, the other will have a 5.5-inch display size. Though unconfirmed, both the smartphones are rumored to come with OLED displays with a quad-HD (2,560 x 1440) screen resolution.

The handsets are expected to flaunt premium metallic design and the famous 'Nokia feel'. The devices will be IP68 certified, which will make them water and dust-resistant. As far as the camera is concerned, the report states that the upcoming Nokia Android smartphones will get new camera technology and that sensors on the smartphones are expected to be the most sensitive ever and based on Nokia's extensive research on wonder material graphene. There will be fingerprint scanner on board as well.

Another report from GizmoChina claims that the two Nokia Android smartphones are likely to feature a 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch OLED displays with Quad HD resolution. The unnamed handsets will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. However, there are also chances that the Nokia phones might get Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 821 processor. It is rumored that one of the handsets will sport a massive 22.6 megapixel primary camera.

The report states that the upcoming Nokia Android smartphones will be manufactured by Finland-based HMD Global, which has signed an exclusive agreement to manufacture Nokia-branded phones and tablets for the next 10 years.
