USNWS Confirms July 17-23 Heat Wave Worst For 2016, Warns People To Prepare

The US National Weather Service collaborates with local offices to determine their weather outlook for a week so residences can prepare. The US National Weather Service found out that people residing in Florida are much more prepared for excessive heat rather than those living in Alaska.

The US National Weather Service stated that this week's heat wave will be the worst that is ever recorded to hit this year due to a heat dome that traps heat near the Earth's surface. US National Weather Service stated that the excessive heat conditions could cover Southern California up to Northeast region.

The US National Weather Service stated that the US President Obama also informed citizens in the 15 states to be affected to prepare themselves for the worst heat scenario, Time reported.

The US National Weather Service released color coded warnings which reminded people how to be prepared for changes in weather. The US National Weather Service released three colored warnings which should be memorized by citizens in the US.

US National Weather Service Pink Warning

The US National Weather Service made the excessive heat warning color pink so people can immediately identify that within 12 hours an increased rise in temperature will happen due to extremely hot weather conditions. The US National Weather Service releases this warning when the expected temperature is 105 degrees or above for at least two consecutive days.

The agency US National Weather Service did note that this criteria varies across the US regions and warns people that they need to be cautious during this warning because it may lead to death.

US National Weather Service Dark Red/Brown Warning

The US National Weather Service's heat advisory is color coded in dark red to brown to inform citizens to take action. The US National Weather Service releases this warning when the maximum heat index temperature increases to 100 degrees for two consecutive days. The US National Weather Service informs people to be prepared and take mandatory precautions to protect themselves from heat stroke, Star Tribune reported.

US National Weather Service Orange Warning

The US National Weather Service alarms people with an orange code for weather that may have possible excessive heat index in the next three to seven days. The US National Weather Service provides an advanced outlook to those who are in danger of harsh weather.
