Xbox One S will be out on August 2. Microsoft's new smaller and sleeker Xbox game console will be sold at $299 with 500GB hard drive, while the 1TB version will sell at $349.

The Xbox One S is the most compact Xbox, which is 40 percent smaller than the Xbox One. It supports the 4K UHD resolution and High Dynamic Range videos. The Xbox head, Phil Spence said that even if a game is not intended for 4K, the Xbox One S can upscale it to 4K resolution, Venture Beat reported.

Xbox One S includes a built-in power supply with stand vertically. It was also reported that the manufacturer shifted one of the three USB ports and the pairing button to the front of the console, alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility.

In addition, the console includes a streamlined Xbox One controller for better grip, equipped with an improved wireless range. A Bluetooth connectivity support is also integrated for better use with PCs running Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Microsoft has also been reported to release a limited edition of "Gears of War 4" Xbox One S bundle with a 2TB hard drive, Mashable reported. The pre-order bundle price is $449.99, starting on Aug. 1, while shipping will be in mid-September. Limited quantities of a 2TB version will also be available for $399.

Meanwhile, Microsoft's gaming and Xbox revenue decreased $152 million. The figure is a 9 percent decline from April through June. According to Microsoft, the decline in consoles sales is the lower Xbox One average price. The pointed out price declines include Xbox 360 and Xbox One. To counter decrease in revenue and boost up sales, the company is planning to release the more compact, slimmer Xbox One S at $300.

Xbox One S is said to be a minor update until Xbox Scorpio console launches in 2017. The game console is believed to have the ability to deliver 6 teraflops of processing power from its graphics processor.
