The NASA app, since its release, has been downloaded at least 17 million times by Android, iOS, and Fire OS users. Recently, the same space exploration window got magnified with the Apple TV's new version. With the technology, high definition presentations of NASA videos on demand, NASA TV, and 3D satellite track maps can be seen. Also, real-time views of the Earth straight from the International Space Station are also available.

Aside from launch and live stream videos, the NASA Apple TV app also offers features like queuing 15,000 images via slideshow and NASA's Earth viewing through its very own art galleries, CNBC reported.

The NASA Apple TV app full list of features is:

  • Access to at least 15,000 still images either individually or through slideshow;
  • Access to on-demand NASA videos;
  • Viewing details of NASA satellites and the ISS as to when they are the nearest to your location;
  • Access to 3D and 2D satellite track maps;

The NASA associate administrator David Weaver, through the agency's official page said, "The NASA app has been a fantastic way for the public to experience the excitement of space exploration from their mobile devices. Now, users with the latest Apple TV can explore and enjoy our remarkable images, videos, mission information, NASA Television and more on the big screen with the whole family."

Forbes' review of the NASA Apple TV app also confirms that the technology's photos, video clips, and TV work brilliantly on the big-screen television. Moreover, the Forbes review also revealed that its available images can be a wide range of options for beautiful, mesmerising, and relaxing screensaver when the TV is not used for anything else.

The NASA Apple TV app is available through the App Store for Apple TV, as well as Android, iOS, and Fire OS.
