New reports suggest Apple might release its next gen smartwatch, possibly dubbed Apple Watch 2, at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled to be held next week.

Speculations about the Apple Watch 2 June release has been making rounds after the Cupertino offered discount on the price of the original Apple Watch during the Memorial Day weekend. Price discounts on current models usually indicate the arrival of a new model. Fans are expecting the same to happen in case of Apple Watch.

However, a recent report from Vine Report claims the developers are facing certain technical difficulties while working on the Apple Watch 2 due to which the smartwatch's release has been delayed to fall 2016. This means that the next gen smartwatch might get released alongside other Apple products in September including the highly anticipated iPhone 7.

In terms of specification, the upcoming smartwatch is expected to mirror the design of the original iteration. However, its internal specifications will be pretty impressive. Unlike the current Apple Watch, which totally depends on iPhone for its functioning, the next gen smartwatch is expected to be entirely independent from the iPhone.

It is rumored that Apple Watch 2 will feature true cellular connectivity and will enable users to make calls, send texts and connect to the internet without using iPhone. The new watch is expected to run the latest version of Watch OS 2.2. It is rumored to be 20 percent to 40 percent slimmer than its predecessor. Furthermore, the smartwatch is also rumored to include a FaceTime camera for video calls.

The Apple Watch 2 is expected to pack an ARM Cortex A32 processor, which is almost 25 percent faster than the current ARM-based processor and offers improved battery life. The smartwatch is also rumored to be significantly waterproof and come with a host of new health-tracking features. There are also possibilities of a new gesture control in Apple Watch 2.

We advise our readers to take the information with a grain of salt as nothing yet has been officially announced by Apple.
