Samsung has offered a lot of phones throughout the years, the latest of which are the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. While the latest Samsung flagships have been impressive, its prior models did their fair share of impressing customers who got one.

According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 garnered a satisfaction rating of 86/100 on a conducted nationwide poll, edging Apple’s popular iPhone 6s by just a point.

Aside from the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, there were two other Samsung phones that did well in the polls as well. These were the Samsung S6 Edge + and the Galaxy Note 4 which ranked jointly at third spot with a rating of 84/100. The iPhone 6s came in at fourth with an 83/100 score.

This development updates a report made last year where it was the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that was christened the most coveted handset in the market.

The Galaxy Note 4 garnered 86 points on average in overall satisfaction at the time but was stood out against Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus which shared second place alongside the Samsung S5 and Note 3 with 82 points in 2015.

Overall however, Samsung still trails Apple at second place with an 80/100 rating. Apple was barely ahead with 81/100 but both brands were considerably ahead of the pack with Motorola coming in at a distant third with a 77/100 rating.

ACSI came up with the poll using sample consumer attitudes on the products using categories and companies in the industry. As it turns out, consumers preferred handsets based on their design and easy of use as far as texting or making calls.

More to that, the software (i.e. iOS and/or Android) was also another point of consideration on the end of the user, the ease of interface of which was prevalent.

While Apple and Samsung continue to lord it over the likes of HTC, LG and Motorola, the fact remains that the two mobile phone manufacturing giants need to uphold their practice of delivering quality flagships.

Samsung is expected to release its next phablet in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 this August while Apple will debut its iPhone 7 variant the following month, September.
