Samsung Galaxy Note 6 remains one of the most anticipated smartphones this year, despite the company's lack of details about the device. Nonetheless, there are already speculations about the Samsung device for the past several months. One of which is the rumor that Samsung will come up with an iris scanner in the upcoming handset.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come with an iris scanning technology as Samsung is reported to have filed  the company's "Eyeprint" and "Iris" trademarks in Europe. The fingerprint scanner in mobile phones has become very common since it can be used to give authorization when paying though online as well as for unlocking handsets. Although this technology is considered as a safe measure of securing handsets, market experts believe that the iris recognition is much better than the fingerprint scanning systems.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is also rumored to offer a 5.8-inch screen and to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with a RAM of 6 GB. Three different variants are also expected to be offered in the upcoming Galaxy Note series - the Galaxy Note 6 Edge, Galaxy Note 6 Lite and Galaxy Note 6. Both Galaxy Note 6 Edge and Note 6 are reported to come in similar specs, although the Lite version is believed to run on a Snapdragon 820 processor, Tech Radar reported.

The  Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is also expected to come with 64 GB, 32 GB, and 128 GB internal storage options. Recently, the company was criticized for not having a card slot for a microSD in the Galaxy Note 5, but reports stated that the Galaxy Note 6 may provide a card slot for a microSD.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is believed to be unveiled this year, as Samsung launched their Galaxy Note 5 in mid August, making others to speculate that the company may follow the similar launch window.  While there is still no confirmation yet about the Note 6 specs, the iris scanner remains to be seen, according to Android Headlines.
