Tesla Model X cars were recalled in early April to address an issue concerning the third-row seat latch. The move was Tesla Motors' response to a report which said that the seat folds forward during a collision. However, it appeared that the owners of the $138,000 sports car are also having problems with windows that do not close and car doors that do not shut.

Several Tesla Model X owners were surprised by these sudden malfunctions, including one whose falcon-wing door cars would not open, according to WSJ.  Another Model X owner Michael Karpf, experienced some problems like failure of the proximity sensors to sense an overhang, falcon-wing doors that would not close and the large infotainment screen that is repeatedly frozen.

According to a Tesla spokesperson, the company is committed to developing the most reliable cars in the world, and that, while the issues being reported are not widespread, they are responding proactively and immediately to resolve the problems. The company has also vowed to carry on with this commitment, which, according to the spokesperson, is among the many reasons why most of their customers are still considering to buy another Tesla car in the future, Consumer Reports reported.

However, venture capitalist of Bessemer Venture Partners Byron Deeter does not agree with this. According to a recent interview, Deeter has been experiencing some problems using his Model X car, which he jokingly refers to as a "series of first-world problems". He cited some issues with the autopilot, which does not work exactly as advertised, and the car's driver-side door that would not open when he walks up to it. In spite of these, Deeter viewed at the problems as little and normal growing pains, considering Tesla's several ongoing improvements.

Furthermore, Deeter believes that these issues confronting the owners of Model X signify the dangers of human mobility in terms of safety and quality control. He noted that Tesla pushed some software out and even some hardware that appeared to be not ready yet for prime time.
