Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could be released earlier than previously expected. A news article suggests that Microsoft appears to be in a rush to finish the 2-in-1 detachable device out in the market ahead of Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 release, which, according to rumors, is in June's Worldwide Developers Conference.

The Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 and the Microsoft Surface Book 2 are both rumored to be powered with most features of the Windows 10 Redstone update, claimed to be called as Redstone 1, according to a report by the tech blog ZD Net. This update is expected to be available this summer since it is going to be the company's Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Prior to the latest development with regard to the release and upcoming features, there were also earlier rumors suggesting that the Redmond-based company may be postponing the device's scheduled release until 2017. It was later followed by a series of reports which imply that Microsoft is apparently planning to drop it before 2016 ends.

Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has been successful to enterprises and consumers with the upgrades that came along with it if to be compared to its predecessor. During its release in 2015, the device was in competition with Apple's iPad Pro, though it fared very well against it. In fact, an Apple insider even touted it to have worked better than iPad Pro in spite the Apple device's top-tier display advantage, GizMag reported.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is already expected to have significant updates considering the rumors and positive reports about it. As for the upcoming device's specs, the next iteration from Microsoft appears to be full of possibilities already. This laptop-tablet hybrid is expected to come with a Skylake processor from Redstone 2 and Intel. Also, reports indicated that it will be packed with a 4K pixel resolution screen that measures 13.3 inches.
