Facebook launches a new tool called Account Kit wherein users can sign in using their phone numbers or email. No passwords and usernames are required.

Eddie O'Neil, the Facebook product manager said that people hate passwords, according to Venture Beat. Most people cannot remember their passwords. This makes the Account Kit more convincing than the conventional Facebook login system, in which you need to enter your password and email address.

Yahoo reports that Account Kit makes the user sign in with their apps easier. The users will just get a confirmation message through email or SMS for the setup.

Account Kit developed on the infrastructure of Facebook. It supports the SMS login for more than 230 countries and some regions in over than 40 languages. Your app can also use the Account Kit to send up to about 100K verification SMS each month without charge.

Facebook Developers shared the advantages of Account Kit. Firstly, it is a customizable user interface (UI). You can have two UI options namely the basic UI, wherein you will have simple customization of your background, button and the header. The other one is the advanced UI that can provide you with more customization options.

Secondly, it has rich analytics. With this, you can comprehend your audience easily and their login preferences. The developers can learn more about the users in private safety and anonymized setup. They can also see the education level, job title, interest and more besides the gender, age, language and country of the users.

Thirdly, it has Facebook notification backup option. For example, you sign in to your app with your phone number, yet you did not receive SMS, you will be notified in your Facebook account to complete the sign in process.

The Account Kit can be downloaded in Android, iOS, JavaScript, mobile web and website to get started.
