Kraft Food Group voluntarily recalled 8,000 cases of the popular American Singles cheese on Friday, according to TIME.

It's reported that the supplier, "did not store an ingredient used in the product in accordance with Kraft's temperature standards," according to a news release given out by Kraft Foods. It's also estimated that a total of 7,691 cases of the cheese have been recalled at this time.

Though it's unlikely to cause harm, if eaten, premature spoilage of the product could increase the risk of a foodborne illness, according to Outbreak News Toay.

Fortunately, no consumer illness complaints have been reported at this time. The affected product is limited to four varieties with "Best When Used By" dates of February 20, 2015, and February 21, 2015.

For anyone who may have purchased the product, it's recommended that it is thrown away or returned to the store from which it was initially purchased. For more information about the recall, consumers can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-396-5512.
