Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. According to U.S. and Kenyan researchers, a large penis might not satisfy one's wife, and it might actually make her more likely to commit adultery.

The study, "Predictors of Extra-Marital Partnerships among Women Married to Fishermen along Lake Victoria in Kisumu County, Kenya," was published in the journal PLOS ONE. The researchers conducted interviews with 545 couples in Kenya.

Both the male and female in each couple were asked to measure the male's penis and report their findings. Differences in the measurements were averaged out, and the researchers found that every extra inch on the husband's penis generated a 1.5 times greater likelihood that the wife would cheat. Now, the question is "Why?"

"Women associated large penises with pain and discomfort during sex which precludes the enjoyment and sexual satisfaction that women are supposed to feel," the researchers wrote via this Huffington Post article.

In fact, one woman reported that she had to seek a man with a smaller penis in order to be pleasured because her husband's hurt her. Of the participants in the study, 6.2% of women reported having affairs during the six-month study, citing reasons of penis size, domestic violence, being denied sex or having a lack of sexual satisfaction.

However, despite the surprising results, the study was originally conducted to determine whether or not women in the Kenyan region engaged in extra-marital affairs because of their vulnerability to HIV infections. They found that sexually satisfied women over the age of 24 were not likely to cheat on their husbands.

That said, not all studies agree. A study released last April in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science found that penis size does affect attractiveness for females, which many prefer to be bigger. A total of 105 Australian women with an average age of 26 were asked to rate the attractiveness of men and the researchers found that the length and girth of the male's penis size was just as important as anything else.

So the topic varies for different women and what they want. The issue also depends on whether a woman has a smaller or larger vagina, as found in the study published in PLOS ONE. Whatever the case, everyone will eventually find their someone.
