Did you know that Saturday is considered by over 44 percent couples as the best day to engage in sex? Surprisingly, this is true and has been proved by a U.K. based survey.

A new U.K. based survey found that most couples find 7.37 p.m. on a Saturday evening to be the most convenient time to have sex. This is the popular peak time when over 44 percent of the couples decide to do it.

After Saturday being listed as the most popular day, the next preferred day is Sunday, chosen by 24 percent of the couples, and Friday figures as the choice of 22 percent of the couples. These results are from a survey of 3,000 people by Lovehoney.com, reports Express.

Richard Longhurst, co-founder of Lovehoney, who conducted the survey, said: "Sex O'Clock will be different for lots of people, but all our research shows that couples who have great sex lives also have great relationships."

The survey revealed that couples reported that afternoons at 4.33 p.m. was when they felt aroused but most had to put off their amorous activities till around 7 p.m.

Some even reported assigning a date night in the week for sex. What was interesting was that nearly 60 percent of them rarely drank alcohol before engaging in sexual activity.

A quarter of the participants surveyed admitted that they were aroused in the morning but just 10 percent had morning sex, mostly due to work pressure, reports MailOnline.

"Scheduling sex can seem like the least romantic activity in the world, but we have found that regular physical intimacy is the key to overall relationship happiness," Longhurst was quoted in Huffington Post. "If the only way you have time for sex is to schedule it, then why not?"
