Just in time for the spookiest day of the year-the Halloween, a mysterious creature was spotted roaming the quite town of Mississippi terrorizing the residents.

A bizarre looking dog creature was spotted roaming around a property in Picayune, Mississippi. The spooky looking animal is feared to be Chupacabra, a vampire like creature that has haunted American folklore for several decades. The Whitfield family spotted the animal roaming around their property. The family captured footage of the animal also known as the goat sucker, lurking on their property, and posted the video to caution other residents.

"If a zombie had a dog, it would look like that," Jennifer Whitfield told WLOX.

The video that went viral generated a lot of responses and Jennifer was surprised to know that a lot of her neighbors had also spotted the mysterious animal.

"We've been running back and forth to our cars because we didn't want the chupacabra to get us," Amanda Denton, who lives a few streets away, told the station.

Chupacabra, or the goat sucker, is recognized for its habit of attacking and drinking the blood of  livestock, especially goats. With a panther-like nose and face, the chupacabras are a strange breed of wild dogs. The early sightings of this hairless animal date back to early 1995 in Puerto Rico.

The video reveals a gray skinned bizarre looking animal roaming in the wilds. People have begun naming this strange visitor in Mississippi as Squatchdog, (BigFoot's companion) reports Fearnet.com.

The wildlife department in Mississippi was quick to clear the misconceptions and calm the fears of the residents by stating that the animal was a coyote with mange.

The officials from the wildlife department arrived at the spot but failed to trace the animal.

"It's probably sick, weak, and not able to hunt on its own, so it's going to the nearest food source it can find," Sgt. David Burnette, said.

This is not the first time that this strange dog like creature was seen in America. Prior to this, a carcass of an animal was found in 2007 in Texas and it was called the Texas blue dog. Later DNA tests confirmed that the species was a hybrid of coyote.
